报告简介: 

I will talk about our work showing how crop plants and farm animals evolve from wild relatives and how the biodiversity can be used for crop improvement. I study genome organization by molecular cytogenetics and DNA analysis with a focus on large-scale processes of evolution and control at levels of chromosomes, genomes and DNA sequence. My research group explores, measures and understands fundamental processes of genome evolution in crops, farm animals and model species, and applies this work in studying the environmental impact of agriculture, and asses risks and consequences of processes. We use our new knowledge to breed crops with better genetics giving impact through increased sustainability and better quality, delivering food security.
