Task Force on Plant Fertility Development and Photosynthesis
BRIEF INTRODUCTION:
The plant fertility development and photosynthesis team is affiliated to the State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Agricultural Biological Resources Conservation and Utilization and the Key Laboratory of Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of Guangdong Higher Education. The team is mainly engaged in rice light/temperature-sensitive male sterility related research and photosynthesis research. Two temperature-sensitive sterility genes tms5 and p/tms12-1, which are widely used in two-line hybrid rice breeding, have been cloned and the temperature The infertility mechanism has achieved a number of internationally leading scientific research results, and some of its work has been published in internationally renowned journals such as PNAS, Nature Communications and Cell Research. The team currently has 8 full-time scientific researchers, about 30 post-doctoral, doctoral and master graduate students. The research group is equipped with conventional instruments for molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry and photosynthetic physiology research, as well as temperature, net room and artificial climate box for transgenic rice cultivation. Other large instruments such as transmission electron microscope, laser confocal microscope, large high-speed refrigerated centrifuge, high-performance liquid chromatograph, etc. can be shared on the public platforms of key laboratories. The average annual research funding of the research group exceeds 2 million yuan.
